giulia avinoGiulia graduated in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Modena and Reggio-Emilia in 2018. During her internship at the Erika Ferrari’s laboratory, she synthesized and characterized new curcuminoids as anticancer therapeutics and theragnostic targeting vectors against Alzheimer Disease. After graduation, Giulia collaborated with with Prof. Tracey Pirali (Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Eastern Piedmont), Prof. Fabio Prati (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), and Prof. Lucia Pasquato (University of Trieste). After completing a master on mass spectrometry at the University of Florence (2022), Giulia spent a short period at Centro di Riferimento Oncologico (CRO) of Aviano, carrying out the research fellowship “Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of oral anticancer drugs: a focus on imatinib and PARPi”. From December 2023, she is research fellow at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry (DCCI) of the University of Pisa in the research group of Alessandra Operamolla. Giulia’s current interests focus on the functionalization of both nanocrystals and nanofibers of cellulose for the preparation of membranes with customized absorption properties for tainted waters purification.
