Cicely May Warne

Cicely is a postdoctoral researcher interested in applying biocatalysis and green chemistry techniques in the synthesis of macromolecules and other materials. She holds a PhD from the Biomaterials and Enzyme group at BOKU university headed by Prof. Gübitz, where she studied the lipase-catalysed synthesis and processing of polyester materials. After graduating in April 2025, she continued her work in the group, focusing on the enzymatic degradation of pharmaceutical contaminants. Having joined the NanoLeaves group in April 2026, she is currently the lead researcher on the Horizon Europe funded MSCA project BIO-TEXTILE-SSbD, which focuses on the rational design and synthesis of liquid repellent coatings to replace PFAS in textile applications.
